ERASMUS +

EXCURSION TO ST. ANNA LAKE

During their Erasmus+ mobility, our students had an excursion to Lake Sfânta Ana, the only crater lake in Romania. It is located in the volcanic crater of the Ciomad volcano in the Eastern Carpathians, near Tușnad, in the Mohoș Natural Reserve, Harghita County, Romania.

Palynological studies concluded that the history of Lake Saint Anne began approximately 9,800–8,800 years ago. The lake is supplied exclusively by precipitation, resulting in a very low level of mineralization. The water purity approaches that of distilled water, containing only 0.0029 ml of minerals

OCEAN OF EXPERIENCES IN ROMANIA

During their Erasmus+ mobility, our students learned many new recipes such as purple onion jam, salmon tartare, beef tartare, mangalica tenderloin, traditional Transylvanian pork soup, creamy celery soup, garlic sauce, green peppercorn sauce, wild boar stew, quattro formaggi sauce, pistachio cream, coffee cream, éclairs, charlotte cake and chimney cake.

They discovered new ingredients such as green peppercorns, formaggi cheeses, sweet potato (batat), tarragon, lovage and chanterelle mushrooms.

They also learned to use professional equipment such as a convectomat, a chocolate tempering machine and an ice cream machine. In addition, they gained knowledge about environmentally friendly business practices and reducing food waste. Thanks to this Erasmus+ mobility, they became more independent, more responsible and more mature.

EXCURSION TO BRAN CASTLE AND BRAȘOV

Brașov is located in the central part of Romania, approximately 166 km north of Bucharest and 380 km from the Black Sea. It is surrounded by the Southern Carpathians and is part of the historical region of Transylvania.

During their Erasmus+ mobility, our students had the opportunity to explore the heart of the city and its landmarks before visiting Bran Castle, located about 25 kilometres southwest of Brașov.

The castle was built in 1377 by the Saxons, who were granted the privilege by Louis I of Hungary. It is now a national monument and one of the most important landmarks in Transylvania. Commonly known outside Transylvania as Dracula’s Castle, it is associated with the fictional character from Bram Stoker’s novel. Today, the castle functions as a museum displaying art and furniture collected by Queen Marie of Romania.

SERBIAN SOUP AND MOUSSAKA

Our students, Balog József and Faragó Szebasztián, impressed their Romanian mentors with their culinary knowledge and were honored with the opportunity to independently prepare the restaurant menu on the last day of their professional practice: Serbian soup and moussaka.
